Liberal Party Ties and Labor's Dirty Hands Australia has witnessed numerous high profile corruption scandals involving prominent politicians and business leaders in recent years.
The ongoing ICAC investigation into Sharangan Maheswaran stands out for the web of deceit it has uncovered – not just within the Liberal Party, but also within Labor's own ranks.
Maheswaran, a former senior executive at Toplace and a one time Labor member of Strathfield Council, is accused of lying to ICAC about his involvement in handing a $148,500 cheque to Charles Perrottet, brother of former NSW premier Dominic Perrottet.
