Ghana Tightens Gold Exports

Ghana Tightens Gold Exports in Push to Keep More Value at Home Ghana has long been one of Africa's most prominent gold producers, but much of its value has slipped through its fingers.

To combat this, the Ghana Gold Board recently directed that all gold dore be refined locally before export, starting September 1.

The move targets Self Financing Aggregators (SFAs), who will now need to process gold through one of the four licensed refineries in Ghana.
