A recent analysis reveals that the collective carbon footprint of Microsoft, Amazon, and Google has increased by nearly 20% over the past year, driven largely by the construction of datacentres to support AI development.
The numbers are stark: these companies emitted an astonishing 119 million metric tons of CO2 equivalent in the latest financial year. This accounts for roughly a third of France's total carbon emissions.
