Vaccine Resistance in the Time of Measles The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports that nearly 155,000 kindergartners in the United States are missing out on essential vaccines.
The majority of these exemptions – about 96% – are non medical, meaning parents chose to opt out not because their child had a medical condition, but because they disagreed with vaccination on principle.
The numbers are alarming. Last year saw a 4. 2% rate of kindergarten age children exempted from vaccines, the highest rate in decades.
